The Gold Standard of HOCl

Industries

Medical & Healthcare

Medical professionals employ HOCl in dermatology and surgery to prepare the skin for injectables and to soothe surgical irritations. It is used to hydrate the skin and remove debris in open wound surgery.

Because of HOCl’s effectiveness against bacteria, it is used post-procedure. Microdermabrasion, laser treatments, and chemical peels all benefit from the use of HOCl.

As to the facilities themselves, the number of healthcare acquired infections (HAI) within hospitals, clinics, assisted living and other medical establishments continues to grow. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that 1 out of every 20 patients contract an HAI. Strict guidelines have forced hospital authorities to ensure cleanliness in their facilities.

There are an estimated 1.7 Million HAIs in U.S. and 99,000 associated deaths each year. Contaminated near-patient surfaces and equipment play an important role in the transmission of dangerous pathogens and appropriate disinfection of those surfaces is necessary to reduce exposure.

Disinfexol effectively and efficiently cleans and disinfects within healthcare facilities in one-step using its EPA registered, long lasting, safe and easy to use solution.

Dental Practices

HOCl is found in the human body at the white blood cell level and is therefore safe for nasal and oral rinsing to decontaminate, as well as safe for nebulizing.

Additionally, the dental community is now recognizing the most effective and safest way to disinfectant their offices is by fogging with hypochlorous (HOCl) to combat lingering aerosols.

Recent NIH studies indicates that HOCl can be used with a high degree of predictability for disinfecting against COVID-19 and HOCl atomizing is the decontamination technique that best suits the needs of the dental clinic, with its ability to disinfect large areas by producing small, aerosolized particles to control noroviruses.

One NIH study states: HOCl atomizing is the decontamination technique that best suits the needs of the dental clinic, with its ability to produce small, aerosolized particles. Dentists should consider the use of HOCl and no-touch decontamination technologies [ultra-low volume foggers] to improve disinfection of surfaces in dental clinics.

The speed at which HOCl begins working, as well as the power and convenience of the spraying delivery system to disinfect large areas quickly, helps businesses communicate a message to both customers and staff that their good health is their highest priority.

Long-Term Care

Senior living, assisted living, and nursing homes are all facilities that house elderly residents more susceptible to infection and vulnerable to harsh chemicals.

In the U.S. some 15,000 long-term care (LTC) facilities serve more than 1 million residents. The residents and staff in LTC facilities have an increased risk of infection due to the unique challenges in the care setting and the resident population. The CDC estimates that health care-associated infections account for as many as 380,000 deaths annually.

For these reasons, all staff in LTC facilities must work together to reduce infections and provide safe care for residents and a safe work environment for staff. Selecting the right long-term care cleaning & disinfecting products is essential to keeping these facilities free of disease-causing pathogens, but also should minimize inhalation and skin irritant risks, and provide residents with the clean and germ-free environment they deserve.

Disinfexol kills 99.99% of viruses and germs, including Human Coronavirus, as well as bacteria and fungi. This time-saving one-step clean and disinfect act as a virucide, bactericide and fungicide, using zero toxins or harsh chemicals. As a bonus safety feature, an independent lab validated that Disinfexol leaves no slippery residue on the surfaces.

Veterinary & Pet Care Facilities

Comprehensive infection control and biosecurity play an increasingly important role in the daily practice of veterinary medicine. However, one element of infection prevention and control that is often overlooked is strict and effective cleaning and disinfection. Just one patient catching an infection while at your facility can lead to significant financial costs. Moreover, the cost to clients can be significant should their pets pick up viruses.

Careful evaluation of disinfectants and implementation can prevent these kinds of infections and the added costs associated with treating them. Staff members want products that work well but don’t put anyone at risk. Our environmentally responsible cleaning and disinfecting solution is a perfect match for veterinary hospitals, clinics, and pet boarding centers. Powered by Hypochlorous (HOCl), Disinfexol provides excellent performance, reduced toxicity, and no unwanted residue.

The perfect disinfectant must be both safe for use around people and pets, and simultaneously effective in swiftly eliminating a wide range of pathogens. HOCl is the answer.

  • Cleanse and disinfect surfaces throughout the animal care facility
  • Quickly and effectively disinfect animal carriers and crates
  • Disinfect pet toys and equipment
  • Remove ammonia-based odors (pet urine)

Commercial & Industrial

In order for businesses to keep their doors open, patrons must be assured that their safety and well being is of the upmost importance. Effective and safe cleaning and disinfecting is paramount.

To address safety concerns, facilities management has been getting greener every year. For instance, Leadership in Energy and Environments Design (LEED) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world, with 16 years of steady growth and currently supporting 80,000 projects across 162 countries.

Cleaning and disinfecting without the need for heavy PPE is a game changer. When you give teams products that contain no VOC’s, no acids, no alkalis and no toxins you keep them safe.

However, while green solutions and practices deliver occupational and environmental safety benefits, their downfall is in the efficacy of the cleaning and disinfecting products used. Typically, the more natural or green a product, the less potent it is in killing germs. Not so with Hypochlorous. The USDA has noted that HOCl can be used as an ingredient in an antimicrobial formulation and may be applied to dairy and food-processing equipment.

Agriculture

The USDA clarified that HOCl is appropriate for organic production and handling, and that it can be used as a no-rinse disinfectant on fruit and vegetables.

A number of studies have demonstrated the strong antibacterial activity of HOCl water against foodborne pathogens on raw agricultural products and food contact surfaces, stating HOCl is an advantageous alternative to other chlorine disinfectants and sanitizers.

HOCl quickly kills a variety of fungi and shows promise as a broad-spectrum contact fungicide for control of foliar diseases of greenhouse-grown ornamentals.

An independent review of HOCl in the November 2021 Grozine Publication found that HOCl can be used in irrigation and hydroponic applications, to treat indoor growth surfaces and apparatus, and used as a foliar spray.  Their research found visible and measurable differences in:

  • BioFilm reduction
  • Less mineral salt build up
  • Increased root health
  • Faster growth rates
  • Less incidence of related pests
  • Easier crop turn overs

Fitness Centers

With sweaty members swapping machines, equipment and mats, gyms can be a breeding ground for fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Staphylococcus bacteria are among the most common germs lurking in gyms. They're also potentially the most serious.

Most gym & fitness industry cleaning agents are either ineffective or toxic, or both, comprised of either alcohol, peroxide, or quaternary ammonium-based, and therefore present potentially harmful long-term side effects.

HOCl is safe to use in your fitness center throughout the day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It has a sanitizing and disinfecting power to kill most viruses, bacteria, and fungi, including all strains and variants of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

EPA registered Disinfexol beats the competition because it's an extremely effective cleaner and disinfectant, as well as completely non-toxic and safe for the environment.

Hospitality

HOCl is unquestionably the safest and most effective disinfectant for Restaurants and the Hospitality Industry. There’s nothing more natural or more effective than HOCl, from the front door of your establishment to the back of the house, and every room in between. HOCl has the sanitizing and disinfecting power to kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi, including all strains and variants of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

Powered by HOCl, Disinfexol provides a clean and sterile environment that hotel staff and guests will enjoy. Most cleaners and disinfecting agents contain harsh chemicals that can cause unpleasant reactions in some people. Disinfexol contains no toxins, chemicals, or even added fragrances of any kind. It’s highly efficacious and yet simple and pure.

As hotel occupancy rates have continued to increase over this past year, housekeeping staffs servicing the nearly 100,000 hotels & motels in the U.S. are busy cleaning and disinfecting like never before. Disinfexol’s one-step clean & disinfect solution saves time and effort.

At the same time, it is incumbent upon management to insure the safety of its employees by avoiding cleaning and disinfecting products that contain harsh chemicals and expose their employees and guests to potential health risks associated with overuse and overexposure. Disinfexol solves this dilemma.

Educational Institutions

Childcare, schools and universities provide ideal conditions for the spread of infectious disease and inadequate cleaning and disinfecting contributes to the spread of viruses and overall illness.

Now, more than ever, cleaning and sanitizing is of the upmost importance. Areas requiring routine disinfection include desks, chairs, bathrooms, locker rooms, and all high-touch areas like doorknobs, drinking fountains and more.

Whereas previously a maintenance contractor handled this service on a daily basis, using chemicals without staff or children present, now cleaning and sanitizing will be done several times per day, by staff and with children around.

Children are more sensitive to the health effects from exposure to toxic chemicals. Harsh detergents have an intrinsic smell that must be masked with synthetic fragrances and can trigger asthma and other allergies.

“Green” products, if they are truly green, will not be as effective at killing germs. Furthermore, many products marketed as such are not actually safe (since there is no legal definition for the term “green”).

Disinfexol provides super strength germ killing ability, without the need to use harmful chemicals around children and staff.

For the Home

When the Covid crises erupted it became quickly evident that households required disinfectants with hospital-grade efficacy, but with child-safe ingredients.

Gone are the days of using dangerous chemicals to clean and disinfect our homes, endangering the health of our loved ones.

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), has been known for two hundred years. It has 100 times the killing power of bleach and has been proven to be highly effective against a wide variety of bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold and mildew. In fact, HOCl is naturally created by our white blood cells to fight infection in our bodies and is the same compound that is generated when lightening strikes the ocean.

Disinfexol is made with 99.935% electrolyzed reverse osmosis water and .065% HOCl. It’s pure, clean and simple.
